Love it !
Everyone knows or has seen the video. The Nissan GTR lapped the 'Ring faster then the Porsche 911 GTx - it made headlines:

The car is as ugly as sin and we wouldn't even being giving it the time the of day if it wasn't for it's performance... But a Porsche on the other hand reeks pure class. I can't beleive I am comparing a Porsche to a Datsun.. the world truly is in a mess!
Except that the Porsche has a setup that could kill you if it starts to slide.
Both are cult cars, porsche drivers are usually fanatical becuase it is a strange setup and GTR drivers are just as fanatical. They drive a Japanese car that can compete but shouldn't be able to for the price.
On the looks front....each to their own :D:D

Yep yep. 15years ago they wer air cooled:p
but 15years ago the 911turbo and carreras had problems with the GTRs back then.
BNR32 had the production lap time for the ring for many years:D
another competition piece is the murceilago LP640 which cant out run the GTR even with more power and less weight.
when a car starts using special lipped rims to stop the tyre from coming off mid corner then u knw u got a fast car.
and i rather GT2 purely cause iknw the GTR wont get 12L per 100kms:eek:

i prefer the GTR
if i wanted a boxer engine i'd go a VW Kombi with a porsche engine conversion(i've seen it done :D) ... but i prefer the mivec :p

Toyota's super car era died when they canned the Supra. Lexus killed of any chance of making any comeback when they made the SC430. ISF that is coming out? Buy an M5. Honda's super car era died when the canned the NSX.
Only Nissan was able to stand tall with the GTR and over the many years its been around it has made most of the production cars in its class put to shame.
The Mines R34GTR, on of Japan's finest. HKS R33 GTR Drag car. When you look at it, its such a versitile car.
The new GTR has now come out. For the money i'd take the GTR. It has everything the porche has and some things better. Most people say that Porche have a racing pedigree and they have a status. You think Nissan dont? You think the GTR cant stand up to the fame of a GT2? Give me a break. You guys are all sucked up into the "Omg i drive a euro so it must be good" mind set. Yes you have Lambo and Ferrari but they are in a class of their own. They are Exotic's and Porche is not. Porche is a luxury sports car. Only the GT2/3's are race breed. Porche falls into the line of the AMG series only with out the racing pedigree as Porche.
This is only my opion and everyone has a right to loving witch car is better. As stated before, any car witch has to have specially designed rim edges to stop the tyres from coming off the rim in mid turn means business.
The GT-R. Its what the real boys drive :p

The ISF is out already, and it's $129,000, which is actually $112,000 cheaper than an M5. The R35 GTR, while a very good car, is already proven to have a weak gearbox, and will require an enormous service bill at 80,000kms when the entire engine needs to be rebuilt with the cylinder bores needing to be resprayed with plasma. Sounds real fun. Don't get me wrong tho, I'm not standing up for Porsche either.
Last I heard the Lexus LFA is still going to be built. Apparently Lexus were going to scrap it, but they were too far invested into it. Something like 600hp @ 9,000rpm - what a screamer.
