Fuck the diff-backs, these companies make the best bolt-on exhausts for S15's, WRX's etc etc and they can't even go to the effort to extend their exhausts for less important cars like the Colt. How hard is it to make a larger diameter pipe that follows the same route as the standard exhaust? They're also gonna sell a lot more by doing that than just selling diff-backs, which are purely for cosmetic reasons).
Blitz have been developing stuff for our cars for atleast 1 year. Their catalogue displayed intent to create parts, never with prices or never with release dates as far back as 1 year. I just wish they would hurry up and do it, they have a new model out ow and sales are only going to go up, so the company who jumps onboard first is going to win out in the end.
Bam!
i'm with 27AME... performance & purpose > cosmetic dress ups

im just happy they even make stuff for our unpopular car,
thing is if they do make the full exhaust kit.. i wonder how much u have to fork out since the muffler is over 700 bucks...

Instead of the ranting about the lack of true performance R&D, you might wanted to look at the whole picture first. Its a known fact that RColt ain't a big seller in any country including japan. Therefore, how do you expect those company to profit. What they are doing now, is to test the market. If no one buys the beginner catback, then there's even more reasons for them to stop any more R&D.
Simple fact: Support the people that support you.
the company that takes the gamble first will get the dollars worldwide
and is this cat back or rear pipe only? if its rear pipe only and $600 (+freight from japan) it doesnt give me any movement in my pants. sorry if my lack of enthusiasm disturbs you lovecolt. remember these are companies out to make money, dependent on our custom, they arent doing anyone favours (including themselves) by not giving the market what they want.

No need to be sorry alba as its really each to its own.
The reality is, getting our sales would not let their sales figure rocket up the sky and neither will it affect them if we don't buy from them.
This is the very reason why all tuners (ecu or whatever) put us in the low priority list.

put it this way,,, if ur the tuning company.... will u R&D on a rcolt? or will u start on the new sti, evo gtr and etc.... im pretty sure i wont say rcolt.
simple as that

Our point is that they,be already spent the time to even create the diff-back, as I said earlier, how hard is it to extend the piping further? They're not going to take the time to put something like this on the market to 'test the waters'. They want sales out of it. A Japanese performance company understands what customers want (you'd think) and should give them that.
Yes we are a relatively small market but if they're going to bother, do it right

For a company to invest money in making the exhaust (or any part) they will do an analysis of the cost to R&D, market, produce and then sell and if this analysis shows a loss or not a "good" profit then they will not commence.
My point earlier in relation to the similar look and design of the Blitz compared to others eluded to the possibility that they may have not done any R&D or even production of their own.
Being emotional about the point will not change the commercial reality of the situation (I know a little about this). A low volume niche car will not have a large after market parts list available and what is available will be at a price above other mainstream cars due to the low volume sold compared to mainstream cars.

yeh i understand why it is priced so, but doing R&D and producing a part that a few other companies already produce that is neither significantly cheaper nor significantly better seems a bit silly to me.
love the fact that they are having a go, i'm just questioning the commitment shown :)
i know that the release of the evo x and new sti have limited the R&D time and shifted the focus from our cars, i guess i'm just venting some frustration (and possibly 24AME aswell).
wouldnt we all just love to have an endless catalouge (in english :D) full of everything from cosmetic dressups like exhaust tips to full blown turbo and suspension upgrades, all reasonably priced and 2 days freight away?? one can dream....

to be honest its just bad timing man. think about it. they prob wont be bothered with something small like our market. with the release of the R35GTR and the EVO10 and the STi race teams and tuners are running to them for parts. Like you said 1st in best dressed yes? so would u want to be 1st in for the ralliart colt or the new GTR?
Its all good business. You have to think about it from that point to understand that we wont get anything for a good 1/2 years. Unlike other tuning companies like RPW who want to help the RColt community or even YR-Advance (Even tho i think their head high with R&D with the EVO X) but there isnt much we can do at the moment but wait. At least they're trying lol :p
hmm..so is this a cat back or just the muffler?

I did hope when I bought the car it would a long list of bolt mods but after owning one and realising we actually don't really fit into a catergory of racing. The 200sx did not have the huge list of parts until drifting took off and everyone, so lets hope a racing category comes up that uses our cars and is popular :D
