View Full Version : Fitting Gauges
I want to fit my boost gauge but am concerned that when i take it in to get my clutch fixed they will start making claims that my cars warranty is void because of the gauge. Has anyone had issues with Mitsubishi with gauges fitted?

lol dude how do gauges effect a clutch? if they even try to stop you from getting the claim then put that to em.
i've made a claim before for the abs and asc having issues. i had 4 gauges on the dash, a bov, a mbc and a panel filter. still got it fixed under warranty.

Here's something for you to chew, a relatively in depth and comprehensive discussion about exactly what you just asked. Hit the 'search' feature to find other threads and stuff.

FYI
Not sure what you know about the operation of a boost gauge but in a nutshell here's how a mechanical boost gauge is integrated with the car.
2 wires - +12V and GND for illumination.
1 pressure line that runs to the cars intake manifold.
Although I understand why you're asking the question, your clutch problem and the fitment of an instrument have got absolutely nothing to do with each other so don't even worry about. Modifications usually only affect the warranty of the parts changed.
I (along with a LOT of other dudes on the forum) have had a boost gauge installed for quite some time, and have never had any issues with Mitsubishi at all.
To fit a boost gauge to a Colt Ralliart it's relatively simple, and if you search the forums you'll find instructions complete from alpha to omega.

I got my gearbox replaced under warranty and I have a boost and volt gauge in the custom pod on the dash... I don't see it being a problem at all
thanks guys for that, had some major issues with Mazda when it came time for a warranty fix, when i had gauges fitted.

haha, don't get me started on Mazda mate, their warranty and service / workshop department and a joke. Tried to screw me out of a new gearbox, diff, clutch etc etc (big tie breakage) because of a cat-back exhaust and a little bit of rubber on the underside of the car (which I explained was because of the breakage, whenever I tried to move the car the wheels just spun up, and they would have noticed this when they had to move it).

It will be fine mate.
I had my clutch replaced with boost and volt gauges and lots of stereo gear.
