I got the cheapo exhaust with a nice chrome dual tip. Noise wise not much change. Same with performance. (it was a free flow tip)

i just got a custom 2.5" mandrill bent 1 cat pipe with straight pipe twin tips and no resonators... other then being too loud (reason ill be at the exhaust shop tomorow to change it) i didnt feel much change in performance which was a big disappointment... was wondering if anyone felt a big performance difference...

also the exhaust shop said that the size of the dump is already maxed hence why it wasnt changed, im also wondering if thats tru or they didnt want to do it so they said that, info would be good thanks

custom 2.5" mandel bent from the rear of the stock resonator with an xforce 7" barrell 4" tip cannon, not loud enough but a lot nicer than stock, still have nice noise on power.

with a colt boosted to 17psi on spike and pod filter deff noticed a diference.

Got the RPW 2.5" Magnaflow Catback System. Pretty quiet at cruising speeds, has a nice deep tone under throttle. Idle sound has increased a tiny bit too. Overall a solid improvement on the sound front i think.

Power wise i recon there was a slight gain. Definately pulled better in 5th gear than it did before the exhaust job. The only other mod was the K&N filter at the time.

I got a custom 2.5inch from the second cat back. It breaths better but I got more power from removing the pill with the exhaust.

just got back installed a muffler on it and it is decent sound now... and 27AME idont recommend it at all you will have a drop in power and its overly loud. i suggest no straight piping at all.

so right now my exhaust is a 2.5" mandrill bent front the front pipe all the way back to the muffler there is also only one cat now and no resonator... oh and the power is back not sure if its got more then stock though

Last week I got a custom 2.5 inch dump pipe added to my RPW Magnaflow cat back. Nice improvement from both jobs.

RPW Magnaflow cat back: Deeper tone to the exhaust note and louder. Better responsiveness all thru the rev range.

Dump pipe addition: Boost comes on earlier now (approx 500rpm) as there is less back pressure in the exhaust. Idle is smoother. Spins the wheels much easier now when accelerating hard. Waiting to see if a CEL comes on but nothing yet. Will get it dynoed in a couple of weeks.

Cheers

Oh forgot to mention I got a 4 inch round tip put on the exhaust which looks awesome and when you rev it rite out in 1st & 2nd gears and change gears quickly there is a pop from the exhaust - must be unburnt fuel in there from running rich.

27ame - what exhaust did you get? When I originally got my RPW cat back I thought it was too loud, but I got use to it after a couple of days. I also found that the exhuast pipe was rattling against the fuel tank guard - got the system refitted again with some pipe work changed around the rear axle and all good. Cheers

I've got RPW without the resonator or muffler. Just straight pipes. So if you thought yours was loud think of mine :p

No rattling issues with mine fitted up pretty well :)

Done this on a old shitty camera so it's not the best. Sounds very different under load too, but I can't really get a video of that with this camera.

haha, yeah I think it will sound decent with just a muffler and no resonator.

I've got the bug now though, I'm trying to get a custom intake pipe and pod done and the battery put in the boot asap.

I'm getting addicted to it :p

It's honestly not THAT loud from inside the car, but I hate to think the disturbance it is making to other people, kind of makes me feel bad. Probably needs to move a bit faster for all the sound it makes too :p

dude it sounds like a rally car

now you will have to mod further to get some more power to match the sound it makes lol...

sounds like a Colt crossed with a Harley lol

I'm so addicted to it. That was the sound i wanted from the begining. I'm removing the resonator next wednesday at Sureflow. Gonna cost me $70 but i think its going to be very well worth it ^^~.

Thinking about getting the cat delete pipe and the rear pipe flanged and buing a resonator and muffler to have on most of the time. Honestly, it is too loud. If you start it up could it back fires like crazy.

Just need to know, leaving the resonator won't reduce any performance compare to having it off rite? Personally i like my car to have a bit of sound but not too much :P if you know wat i mean. Still like a bit a sleeper factor to it,.

27AME, love the exhaust sound, I would love to be able to drive around with that sort of exhaust note, but unfortunately I feel it would attract a little too much attention!

Sounds just like Catfords TMR fettled Evo9, love it!:p

Yeah I'm carrying a winter coat at the moment, should be gone by christmas :p

Corosith, I was worried about the attention it might get, but after driving it for 2 days now it's not that bad. As long as you shift early and keep off the throttle, or below 2000rpm in 5th, it just sounds like a normal aftermarket exhaust. It's when you give it a bootful that it really screams, or below 1500rpm in 1st - that is when it sounds best. Makes people turn around and go what the hell is under the hood of THAT thing! sounds like an SR or something.

sounds same as my exhaust ahahaha but i think mine was louder, but howz ur performance on the car??? i think we need to meet up haha n compare... well i wacked a muffler back on it and going to add a flex pipe and a resonator (which doesnt affect performance at all) as its my daily car and only wanted to hear a straight pipe exhaust, sounds really worked though.

Come to the Gold Coast cruise on the 16th :)

I would love to get it on a dyno to check out the performance. Sometimes I'm like "shit, that feels faster" other times I'm like "hurry the fuck up".

I will go to the same dyno I went to last time and compare the results as a rough comparison. It really screams though. Love being in traffic high in 3rd, then a new lane starts up and just dropping it back to 2nd and hearing "POP BARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, BARRRRRRRRRRR *LET OFF THROTTLE* BAR BAR POP BARRRRRRRR...

What kind of muffler did you put on? I'm thinking of having a flange bolted on to the rear and getting a muffler that will REALLY quieten it down for when I don't want attention. I somehow don't think a cannon muffler will be enough to shut it up by itself.

It definitely sounds like it's had some work done. Down low in first it literally sounds the same as my mates S15 who has a straight pipe exhaust, under load it sounds similar but obviously a bit tinnier because of the smaller displacement.

Just had a muffler put on.... It's a fair bit quieter but still loud... Got a silencer to put in the muffler as well but damn they look ugly...

I got a Zetti cannon but I really wanted just a generic muffler and a inconspicuous tip. But the dude reckons there wasn't enough room and he only had oval shaped mufflers in stock. The only round barrels he had were cannons. It looks ok, just a little out of place though and it's kinda pointing down which I don't like..

Ahhhh well.... I still have the straight pipe on a flange if i ever want to swap it over :)
