Perfect, man!
Great color and all these small ralli//art bits that differentiate it from Europian CZTs makes it perfect.(exept from the 2 rear doors :) )
the white ones do look nice haven't seen on in the flesh yet
Very nice indeed.:)
I'd never considered white as a nice car colour, but since i saw a white colt , I started to like it very much.

thanks pplz..
yeah the white makes all the dark plastic bits and black bonnet vent stand out more.
i dont know about other rcolter's but i do notice with mine i get quite a few heads turning (but that could be due to the lack of rcolts around! lol)

gosh, why dont you just get a new mod for each day of the week....lol
nice location of the MBC...are you trying to cook it ? lol
but seriously, having rubber vac lines over or too near the exhaust, they will heat and expand and in "theory" could give you abit of trouble. Time to re-route over the stock solenoid...do it once, do it right abs.

lol these changes have been over a period of time - i've just been slack and haven't updated the thread.. :p
the MBC isn't as close as the pics appear (its mounted at the very top of the radiator on one of the existing holes - so no drilling req) - this location gives easy access to adjust it - but yeh cheers for the heads up will see how it goes and if i do experience trouble down the track i don't mind moving it... besides it looks better there :p

hey aby. question for you. when you installed your mbc did you remove the restrictor in the line from the boost feed to the metal tee where it goes to the actuator and the solenoid?
Any info would be great.
See you on the next brissy cruze.
aby82
03-06-2008, 01:27 PM
hey mags :)
the installation of the mbc was practically done by cameron (emperor).. i was just an apprentice - so as to ur technical q i can't answer it directly, all i can say is, that my setup up is exactly as per Trickster's write up here: http://rcolt.com/showthread.php?t=1264&page=2 ... cept mine is mounted in a diff location as u can see on the prev page of this thread :D

so wednesday two weeks ago my car was parked on the street out the front of my work like it usually was.. 4.50pm rolls around CRASH, i jump up from my desk, rush outside and see my precious white rcolt has been sideswiped by some douchebag fucking around on their mobile and before hitting my car hit one of our client's car parked directly behind mine, so all in all 3 cars written off. Now to put my frustration into perspective, I work in an industrial area were the streets are extra wide and everyone in general finishes work at 3/4 o'clock, so at most there would have been six cars parked on the 400m stretch of road where it happened..
anyway a week later I find out my car has been written off, I got paid out and am now behind the wheel of a 2001 mitsubishi challenger 5spd.
will post pics later of my scarred rcolt and my new wheels..
KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR A FOR SALE THREAD WHERE I'LL HAVE LISTED QUITE A FEW THINGS RCOLT RELATED THAT NEED TO GO

Hopefully there isn't a third event like this as things are known to come in three's, Coro, yourself... who's next?

That's real bad luck mate, make you want to give the driver involved a back hander, especially as it was due to negligent driving!
I hope that throw the book at him/her (or put the mobile where it fits). I still can't believe in this day and age that people still do not have hands free kits for their mobiles when driving - willing to spend $800 on a phone but not $90 for a bluetooth kit.
Comprehensive insurance is great, but accidents always leave a sour taste in your mouth plus the inconvenience involved.
Did you get a hire car when without your colt, the person at fault has to foot the bill.

Most probably economic reasons, anything to do with the RISE structure of colt = big bikkies. You can't panel beat the hardened steel/high temp welded parts of the RISE structure, all items have to be replaced and re-welded if they even have the equipment to do so.
Honestly, the guy that did this should be put in the stocks in a public place and flogged.
Do you know what the guy that caused the carnage got charged for?

Seems like any damage is terminal for the Colt...

16-11-2011, 09:16 AM
Its not just the colt, FTO's were written off at the drop of a hat, mine got repaired and the bill for smashing the front left corner was $8900... this is why I paid my 2k a year comp insurance lol.

This is what my bro says as he works in Allianz...
insurance claim consultants or assessors knows parts are expensive + labour to fix shit is not worth it as compared to paying out the customer. Even though it may be repairable but it's also insurance co's liability to ensure that the repair is 100% otherwise will cost them even more if the repair causes more problems.
If it was a Commodore crashed in a 3 way collision with little comprise of the frame, parts are cheaper to repair than to pay out the car so they would rather repair that first... They measure the cost of the vehicle too. Commodores values are greater than the parts whereas Colts car is worth less than the parts and labour to repair etc...

kudos to that, I got sideswiped just enough to knock the rear right wheel arch plastic off, ended up costing $1600!

Recond'd gearbox - had a problem when I bought it but factored repair costs into the price, drives like brand new now
Heavy-duty clutch while they were at it
Wet suit front seat covers
Recovery gear and other bits and pieces for offroading
Changed the wiper blades to ebay aero ones
K&N air filter
Waiting for rcolt's to drop in price so I can have one as my daily :D

Care to elaborate a bit more paul?!? you hope Andrew isn't gonna sell his rcolt to me now for $5k? i was only joking mate, there's no way I could get an rcolt now for $5k..
As to what they'll be worth in 3-5 years time, we'll just have to wait and see, but consider this the rcolt sold for $30k when they came out, now 5 years later you're lucky to get $13k for a stock rcolt, you might get a bit more if you've done some mods or more likely less - so in another few years there is every chance they'll be worth close to $5k, time will tell though..
cheers
