hey guys, yes i kno im young and this may sound a little *wankerish* but has anyone managed or tried to fit a straight dose pipe to an rcolt, eg get rid of the airbox and refit the afm so just a straight pipe can be run from the turbo with a pod on the end?? would sound pretty awesom i rekon :D

Might sound awesome, but i think the negatives will outweigh the positives. It will be a nice pickup for hotair, and you will have to run a return line for the standard blowoff valve, the cost, not to mention issues with fuel/air ratios all over the place. From what I've seen so far, even running a pod filter has negative effects on the colt performance unless running aftermarket management, just the sound might make it seem like it is faster!:)

very true haha. jst a thought but haha... i really think the best intake wopuld be to hav a hole in the bonnet vent and hav a pod filter sticking out through it into the open air:P if only it didnt rain....

Yeh, but why the hell would ya wanna do that?
My cars vents alot of oil thru the PCV valve, and i wouldnt want it going to atmo.
The BOV isnt on anymore just that standard one is on now
With the Pod setup as it i get loud as induction noise and ou can clearly hear the recirc valve when it operates.
Why would ya wanna run no bov, that would be hell bad for the engine and no doubt set of CEL LOL
if u dont wonna run a bov it would take bout 5 min...u get a bottel cap and shove it in the pipe...and if u have a pod u will get some dose...but as ur running a small cooler it wouldnt be that loud
ur car will lag also
really not worth it...it just slows down the turbo wheel
as for damage it prob wont to shit...its debatable...but i use to run my old turbo car like that...never had a prob and i no cars running big hp which dont run a bov
doin it on a standard colt has no pros cause it wont be a loud dose

If you really didn't want to run a blow off valve, easiest thing to do is take the standard one off, and put in it back on the wrong way around - turbo flutter here we come!:D (I did this accidently when fitting my MR Evo9 valve - sounded good, but not very functional!:)

Yeah - got a bit excited when I first got my MR bov - was interesting to hear my rcolt flutter, even if only for a brief moment!:p
Regarding running no blowoff valves, mmmm - I'm pretty sure most of the guys know that a lot of the drift boys run no bov, but then again most of the time it is just to get that "nice flutter" sound of the boosted air cavitating against the turbine wheel, rather than as a performance modification. If you do a search, you'll find we've covered all of this before anyway.
The other thing is that the rcolt is pretty sensitive to anything but the most basic of modifications due to its nanny ECU, unlike 200sx's or 180's which are very modification friendly and don't chuck a tantrum evertime you try and modifiy it.:)
