Not sure about those wheels against the Silver?
And whats with the full racing bucket - Our car's certainly aren't that quick...

Consider they don't come with Recaro seats in Singapore when stock, hence might as well get the best. :D
27AME: The bucket seats are not there because rcolt's quick or slow, its there in order for us not to be throw out of our window when cornering, aka body roll :D LOL

hey fuse,
sweet ride man, love the wheels, how are you finding the hks evc 6 ? did you install it yourself ? plus did you have any issues with the turbo timer and how do you find the HID headlights ?

hey fuse,
sweet ride man, love the wheels, ( yeah i like them too)
how are you finding the hks evc 6 ?
its very good in holding boost but u need to tap the rpm and throttle wire to make full use of it.
my garage only tap the throttle wire so.... anyway back to the EVC 6
after installation, stock boost without evc is 6psi max.
i normally run at 8 psi for setting A with off set of 80 -85% from actual boost.
and B setting running at 11psi again 80 -85% offset. yiou need to set the offset or the boost spike is super high and off the chart.
example: if i set 100% boost target 8psi, it will shoot to 11 pst before it settle down.
note: you need to know the evc 6 to fine tune it. my garage actually screw up the settings and i had to reprogram the entire module again myself which i'm not so happy about. but by re- programming, i have learn stuff about our engine that was a mystery to me before.
i have tried boosting at 14.4 psi ( 1bar) and all hell break loose. the car just died.
what causes it.
CEL : limp mode.
error codes: vehicle speed sensor ( low speed high boost), barometric pressor sensor ( pressure too high) , knock sensor( lean), injector circuit ( ecu cut fuel supply), fuel pump relay( ecu cut fuel supply ), and egr sensor all failed...
so in short, our ECU cannot cope with high boost.
my logging showed very high knocking of the engine - lean mixture.:p
in the long run will kill your engine.
so high boost is not recommended until ECU can be reprogrammed or piggy back installed or ecu replacement installed.
also recommend upgrade fuel pump, fuel regulator, bigger injector. and mivec tuning if possible to move the rpm from 4k to maybe 5k ( retard mivec)
plus did you have any issues with the turbo timer -
no issue as i'm running off after mkt alarm. installed by my garage whom i bought the car from, its a thrown in item.. part of the package. setting idle to 30sec regardless of travel.
and how do you find the HID headlights ? very sweet.. stock cars came with it.
hope it helps those whom are installing any controllers.
i will take some pics and post if anyone is interested in the evc installation.

Yeah definatly interested in the hks evc install pics. thanks for the details, hard to find any out there in the world wide...

There is certainly nothing to shout about for CVRs that have yet to be done up and tuned. Here in Singapore we already have a few that have been moderately modified and fully tuned. The fully tuned CVRs including mine are clocking century timings of between 5.1 to 5.4 seconds. If you compare these timings to that of a stock WRX (be in 2.0 or 2.5 litre MTs), we will beat them in straightforward drag races.
The fastest CVR in Singapore is even running an external wastegate and our sources have told us that he has hit below the 5 seconds mark. Does that justify bucket seats now?

Sorry Wolfe, but i'm not very convinced with the 5.1 - 5.4 sec. As capable as the Mazda 3 MPS, they also need to relay on electronic launch control to achieve its 6.xx, let alone with the rcolt. And for under 5 secs?? That's even off the chart.
Need to see a time slip to convince me there ;)

To each his own man. A stock Subaru Impreza WRX weighing 1.4 tonne with 230bhp and 320nm torque can hit 0-100 in 5.9secs. So you wanna tell me why a fully tuned and modded Colt, weighing 1 tonne with 230bhp and 385nm torque is unable to go 5.1secs?
Driver plays an important part and my firm beliefs is that a driver with superb mastery in launching will beat any electronic gadget anyday.

but you are saying that a car with a smaller turbo and smaller engine without major internal modification can beat a wrx with 4wd..
are you still running the stocks on the front ? cause you would need some major sticky rubber to get those times.
Im with lovecolt, im not saying you arnt right, but the best way to back up very very big claims is to prove it with a time slip and full details.

Alrighty. Importantly, I didn't come here to register to prove anything. I came here to share some tuning options which I believe can help those who are not in Singapore. In this case, I think its best we stick to our own form of modifications and be happy with whatever we can achieve in our own country.
Good luck and god bless.

I don't know about anyone else here but I'm all ears when figures like this are put forward. Wolfe, you are right saying that the driver plays a big part.
I can't wait to see your time slips posted up so we can have a bit of international competition going on :)

For those who PM me, thanks. Please rest assure I am not pissed or what. Its just that I came here solely with the intention to share and help. Since there is no way for me to hop over to Aussie land, this is the best I can do.
It is easy for our CVRs to cross the 200 mark. For those who doubt the figures and timings, please consider the following mods and get them done if your wallet permits. After doing the below, go fixed an RSM or best still, try out with some bigger machines like the Civic Type R, Accord Euro R, stock Impreza WRX, etc and I assure you victory (provided you do not screw up when launching or changing gears).
1) Open Pod Air Intake with CAI (for high end power)
2) Straight thru exhaust system with good straigh thru muffler (stock diameter for our pipes is 2 inch. You can choose to remain at that or go for 2 1/4 inch but the 2 cats in the way must go. If you country permits, do away with the silencer too.)
3) Metallic Dump Valve for regulating higher boost
4) Boost controller (i am using HKS EVC 5) running @ 1.1 bar high boost. (Heard some CZT brothers are running 1.4 bar and my guess is that your climate being cooler permits that kind of high boosting.)
5) Good water cooling system (Billion radiator hose kit, Ralliart low temp thermostat and at least 1.1bar rating radiator cap)
6) Oil cooler (optional)
7) Tuning (ECUReflash is the best but a good and well tuned piggy back will do the trick as well) Why ECUReflash? Because with that, a good tuner can actually play with your MIVEC timings for extra horses and torques.
If everything is done properly (stick to the same brands as much as possible), you should at command a figure of between 210-235bhp and 300-350nm torque on crank. End results varies because of the settings of different dyno machines.
It is possible to up the figures even higher with a bigger turbo (like TD04 and VF34), a good quality and well made intake manifold and an intercooler (ensure correct dimensions for the turbo you use). But do note that the Colt is still only 1.5 so strengtening of the engine internals is defintely necassary. While you are drooling over your gains, please ensure you have a good suspension setup, excellent brakes and some body bars to match your power.
