Hi guys,

I'm thinking of putting a POD filter on my missus' COLT, its a none turbo. Has anyone done this before? Any KIT available?
Also i'm thinking of putting a DC5r muffer on it and maybe replace the catback pipe, will all this VOID my warranty from Mitsubishi? BTW we bought the COLT from Mitsu Chadstone.

Thanks

gday mate,

theres a pod kit avail from K&N for the turbo and i'd imagine it'd work on the non-turbo too.. check their website.. K&N (http://knfilters.com.au/)

re: warranty voiding.. do a search there are numerous threads discussing this topic - the bottom line is anything not fitted by mitsi and non-genuine can void your new car warranty.. here's one of the current threads have a read ;) http://rcolt.com/showthread.php?t=1354

The K&N kit WILL NOT FIT a standard colt as the intake is different and DOES NOT run an airflow sensor.

You could fit a pod with the right sized pipe fitted into the intake pipe, then to the pod easy as.

The normal colt runs a MAP sensor insted of an airflow sensor.

It's a waste of time fitting a pod filter to your NA colt, all you'll do is suck in hot air & lose power. Stick to the panel filter, and keep your air cool - the only thing you will gain from the pod is better induction noise and that's about it! If you do decide to run a pod filter, at least get a cold air induction setup with an air box, otherwise you risk getting defected, and stuff your warranty.:)

it'll sound cool with marginal power loss. The stock colt is never going to be a fast car so doesn't really hurt to put a pod on. If it's the same as the old Lancer 1.5Ltr then it's really easy and should cost you less than $40 to fit.
