Greeting all.
just thought I'd drop by and introduce myself because I'll be picking my new baby (a Gray RColt) tomorrow morning!

I'm coming from a Stock-as-a-rock '02 Corolla Ascent Hatch (sadly written off by a kangaroo that decided it wanted to get better acquainted with my left headlight =_= ) So this definatly a HUGE upgrade

I was also what the recommened run-in procedure is, as after I pick her up, I'll be going on a good 4hr drive to visit my folks (being Mothers Day this w/e and all  )

Thanks!

~GD

ps. nice forums too.

g'day mate welcome :D

normal run-in procedure would be to not redline it for the first 1500 or so k's until the first "check-up" service.. (that's assuming it hasn't done that many k's yet) then after that drive it how u wish ;) lol

G'day.

You're a lucky bugger, TMR is only just down the road if you want to get the $550 power upgrade for it.

cool I thought as much, but since this is my first new car I thought I'd ask. it hasn't done that many k's yet (it's an '08 comp. ) and when I had a look at it in the dealer's warehouse it still had all the delivery stickers + a healthy coating of dust on it :p

thanks for the warm welcome guys. and I look forward to meeting some of you @ the cruises

I'm in North Melb.

Well, I just got back from the folks place out in the country. and I must say I am SO SO SO SO happy that I picked the RColt :D .
I had a huge grin on my face from the moment I pulled out of the Dealers till after I arrived at the folks (a good ~4hr drive)
Now to start modding..........

Gah, can't believe this.
Went for a cruse out to Malvern on my day off today to pickup come computer parts.
Must of picked up a nail or something on Tooronga Rd because by the time I got back out to my car with my parts, the driver-side front was flat as a tack :(
Got the 'ol pizza cutter on ATM and when I called up the local Bob-Jane the quoted me $270 for a replacement AD07 x_x

bugger mate! same thing happened to me within a month of getting the car.

try bob jane on Doncaster rd in doncaster. They quoted me $270 but i told them i could get it for $250 so they matched it. Make sure you get the Advan Neova (cant remember if its the AD07 or not).
Else see if they can plug the hole. Unfortunately for me i got a razor blade in my tyre

Personal preference Andrew! I drove the shit out of my RColt straight off the showroom floor (it was literally delivered to me on the dealer's showroom floor). I've driven a few RColt's now and I still maintain that mine feels more responsive and a little looser and happy to let me get up it. It all comes down to what you've heard and prefer.

Me and my dad have always been this way, whether that led me to blow up the gearbox and diff in my old Mazda, who knows :p, but every time we get a new car delivered, it's straight to the hills for us.

Yeah I went in yesterday to see of it was plugable, no dice unfortunatly :(
Chucked it on the tank and found a puncture in the sidewall.
"lucky" for me before I went in I did a quick ring-around of tyre places in the City, and were happy to match the cheapest price I had found ($256 fitted & balanced)
New tyre should be here Monday/Tuesday
