Yeah, I got that one :D

Almost the same price as QJP (Qualified Japanese Parts) www.qjp.jp ;)

Great find anyway! :)

I always like the Sonic Power Air Filter, but i doubt it will be any use for our rcolt when its going to face the firewall in the engine bay.

How did your Blitz filter go VipMartie? still not working?

Haven't tried it a second time yet...

It's snow everywhere here... my car looks like this:

Not fun to do anything with it now. I have something else in my mind :D

Yo brother, the induction kit use back your stock afm. The kit included a adapter pipe to mount your stock afm.

Just wanna inform that I've got the ECU light turned on, but no limp mode though...

I've measured the blitz adaptor and our stock airbox. The stock one is on 53mm inner diametre and the blitz one on 57mm. Which is 4mm different. I will try to get the blitz pipe smaller by adding a thin pipe inside the blitz pipe.

Please tell me if anyone got a better suggestions

Why make it smaller when bigger is better :D

Because apparently, the CZT people had alot of issues when they first use a bigger pipe. Only after a few attempts, then they realised that the different in pipe sizing allows different of air going through which will cause the air fuel sensor to freak out....

Exacly...

But the question if it really is that causing the trouble since it is only 4mm different.

But small things could make differents too ;)

Tingw... could you measure the size of you pipe to the O2 metre?

Will do, when I dismantle everything the next time I maintain my engine bay can?

So does anyone have this on their colt or what?

Here in Greece, about 20 colts have installed the LM Blitz induction kit

There was a major power improvement from 155-160ps to 175-180 ps, on dyno.
http://www.coltclub.gr/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2070
and here, from red, to black line
http://www.coltclub.gr/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2102

The induction kit, "cheats" the ECU, letting more air to enter the engine.
The Air Flow Meter, does not measures the extra air, from the extra 4mm
diameter. So.. Above 3.000 rpm, the car, gains power.

But how does the Blitz induction cheats the ECU? Or are we talking about the same Blitz kit that's mentioned here? What's included in the kit??

Here i have made a scematic.

http://img45.imagevenue.com/loc36/th_12596_AFM_english_122_36lo.JPG (http://img45.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=12596_AFM_english_122_36lo.JPG)

The Air Flow Meter, measure the Flow of air, at the normal diameter (53mm) The
ecu calculates the MASS of air, combining the flow and the known area of the
induction tube.
With Blitz induction, the Air Flow Meter, measure the flow on a bigger tube. Now
the diameter is 57mm. The ecu calculates only the air on purple, but the actual
mass of air is greater. (air on purple plus air on grey color)

Hmmm but all those RVR colts with blitz is working?

I always have the ECU light problem... My idea was to change the pipe into 53mm, but I guess that won't work then? I will try that tommorrow. :(

By the way, can someone get the part number for your AFM to RVR?

I need to compare what's different since many stuff is working for you guys and not for us :(

Working?? i'm not aware of any RVR that has a blitz kit, let alone if its working or not. But changing back to 53 mm is the best bet.

Yo brother, the diameter of my RALLIART sunction pipe is 60mm.

Im not sure if we have the air meter adaptors here, to use our own standard sensor.

ECU needs to know the mass air flow, that is the amount of mass of oxygen, or grams that come inside per time unit, i.e. grams per second.
This depends of the 21/79 ratio of oxygen to nitrogenous that air has, but also from variable conditions that provide more mass for same volume like reduced temperature, atmospheric pressure increase and of course speed in a certain diameter of intake tube.
If you reduce diameter just in the point where MAF meter is positioned, the amount of air will be almost equal but ECU will think that more mass is getting while is not, and ECU will tell injectors to provide more fuel, resulting in a combustion in excess of fuel or lack of oxygen. That will be detected by oxygen sensors in exhaust pipe, and I guess that ECU will readjust fuel.
Diameter counts, but I don't know if car will go faster and use more fuel with less diameter. We can try and test, after market filters manufactures have done that, for sure! Does anybody know which diameter is better?
