Guys has anyone got any information about the A1GP times for Eastern Creek .

I think practice starts at 11:00am on Friday but as usual there is no info on support races and times.

I find this the same with the V8's, I think the Internet is the last place people are updating these days and places like Eastern Creek and Venues should have more information for people about upcoming events.

Unless you are in the circle of event you just dont know what is going on.

p.s I will be there all weekend taking happy snaps, not sure if I am taking the Rcolt or the company car Also going V8's and maybe the superbikes.

They are selling a two day pass for $100 so $50 per day.

Sunday is the big event but they should have other races on as well.

The visual feast should be both days, the V8's usually have a photo shoot on the Sat so the Judges can pick the Winner for the Sunday event.

I can only assume Friday is free as you cant buy a ticket, I have sent a request to Eatsern Creek for a program so if I get one I will let you know.

P.S sold my 170-500mm for $400 bucks which isnt too bad considering I paid $600 for it three years ago. Cant wait to try out to new DG 50-500mm version plus I bought a 70-300mm VR Nikon Lense. I just need a pack mule to carry the stuff , hang on the wifes coming so I might be in luck lol.

I might head over on Friday to take whatever pic i can. Already have Sat for a private photoshoot and Sun for a Central Coast photography meet.... What a packed photography weekend :)

By the way, how come you get 2 overlaying lens?

I have a Nikon D70s, D2h and D1.

So they are setup for D70s - 70-300mm for panning and medium shots, D2H 50-500 on a Monopod for corner and long shots, and D1 with 30-120 VR for close up shots and close panning.

Its easier to have three cameras setup than have to change lenses in dusty enviroments and change menu settings all the time.

The 50-500 is 1.8 kilos so yeah I can do panning shots for about 1 minute before the arms fall off. The 70-300 is much lighter.

Lucky I am still an amatuer I dont think I could afford to be a Pro.

I dont think I will be buying more equipment for a while, in the last two weeks I have bought a macro flash, a 55mm 2.8 micro lense and a 4 gig extreme III cf card. I really have to stop buying and do more shooting.

Just a quick pic from yesterday at the A1Gp at Eastern creek.

If anyone went you would of seen the Ferrari Car club do a parade lap with the drivers . One car had been parked in the rain for 4 hours with his roof off. I would hate to see how much rain was sitting on the floor as it was pissing down. Too much money and not much sense.

Heaps of practice and alot of hit and miss. Still have a lot to learn but so little time. The V8's and Superbikes are on at Eastern Creek this month so I should get better. Still having some setting issues with a new camera but will get them ironed out soon I hope.

I still laugh when people get their point and shot cameras or even worse the camera phone and try and take a picture a car doing 320km down the straight. For some reason they never get the car in the picture???
