Good idea, how come I never thought of that! I will probably have to relocate my head unit to there if possible, then I can mount all of my guages into the carbon fibre sheet and then mount the whole lot into the top double DIN hole! For some reason Macca, I thought that spot may have been too small for anything useful, as I couldn't fit my 52mm gauges in there (will have to re-check that just in case I am talking rubbish!):)

Just for you coro, thou, some modification was required to make it fit, I used the cage surround they come with, but the top edge of that trim, has not got a lip on the edge like the 3 other sides, so the vertical lip on the cage, had to be flattened out to get the cage to fit correctly.
The the silver surround around the unit, doesnt it the upper edge of the trim, so as you can see i just cut it off, the top part of it, you can see it in the car, as the trim pannel extends over it.
You also have to remove 1 clip holding the antenna lead in, and the loom fits down fine.

I dont want to rain on anyones parade and I love gadgets.
But does anyone really watch dvds in their car.
I understand GPS, stereo controls and maybe music clips but watching a dvd movie???
Looks a great install great work. Again I just checking it there are really useful.
I think Itouch and psp's are great but again would you watch a movie on them for 2 hours on a small screen. Bus/Train maybe but if I was at home why???

Yeh, I do, mainly music DVD's, not just at home though. Also have sitcoms to watch etc, 1/2 hour at a time stuff, I agree though a whole movie can be a bit much even though most of my travelling is on highways.

One of the main reasons, beside the cool factor is, i can load DVD MP3 data disks onto it, so 4.7g of mp3s per disk, + it can also power and show reverse camera, and auto activate via reverse switch.
if you had dials and OBD2 data showing on the LCD it would be cool but yeah the only thing that i'd use the LCD for is music vid clips.

Ever had to wait for your wife/partner at the shops? That's good enough reason, if any, to have a vehicle mounted DVD player!:D
I guess it's one of those things, if the option of having a DVD player is there, then why not have have it, even if it is not going to be used very often!:)
