Just wondering if any has used a Greddy Profec B Spec 2 Boost Controller on a Ralliart Colt/Colt CZT before?
The boost controller has a low & high setting (ie you can set 2 settings). From reading on the forum, is it safe to run the boost controller high setting on .82 bar and would this throw a cell light?
Thanks

I have the exact boost controller on mine at the moment. It did cause me a CEL light and this is even when my boost are set exactly the same as stock. Somehow the ecu detects its presence and freaked out.

So is the boost controller still throwing a cell light? I assume its more responsive with the boost controller?

ryan said, that the ecu detects it after awhile on Stock boost and he isnt currently running the controller due to this fact.

yup! the profec b is currently my boost reader only. Before the engine light, the car does felt much better as the initial tune is to maintain boost throughout the rev range.

i didnt know you had a EBC on your car ryan, i just got my hands on one such item. can i ask you for a favour?
you know the mounting plate for the EBC? could you possibly measure it and give me the dimentions for it? im missing that one part

What mounting plate, are you referring to Jeff? The interior control unit or the one that's placed in the engine bay?

did you guys leave your old solonoid plugged in? I know with the IX's you have to leave the old solonoid plugged in or you get a CEL.

yeah, you have to leave the power plug in, or the ecu flips out.

Lovecolt, im talking about the mounting plate for the solenoid. got mine off a friend and its missing a few things. but its nothing we cant make. just gotta get some measurements for it.

I got myself the same EBC as lovecolt. my mechanic is confident that we can get it in without setting off the CEL, it seems we are having a bit of trouble getting our EBCs in. has anyone managed to get one in successfully?

all the guys in singapore are running HKS EVC's with no problems. But over certain boost levels i think you would get a CEL light if the ecu hasnt been flashed, and in singapore can flash theirs.

i have been doing a bit of reading have you tried putting the boost controler infront of the STD solenoid, in a book called 21st century performance thats the way they recomend to do it

I need this book.
We are just starting to mess with our boost.
If anyone wants to come over to www.cztoc.com and advise us your more than welcome.

FYI
the stock solenoid is NOT a sensing device of any sort, so by removing it from the system it's just going to work away happily like it would usually.
there really shouldn't be any need to run piping of any type to the stock solenoid.
i ran an eboost2 on the colt ralliart and although it worked very very well the only way for it to control the boost properly ended up with a max boost of 14.1PSI which is lower than the TMR modification and as such resulted in less power.
a boost controller would be an excellent idea on a colt with an aftermarket ecu or if you wanted to set a 'low' boost level for some reason.

My MBC only worked when bypassing the solenoid.

Its must still be plgged into the electrical connector thou, The ecu cant bite check it.

I thought your eboost was an epic fail?
Did it atleast do what you wanted it to do? Hold boost through to redline?
