Well, I thought I'd start my own thread as my Colt will be undergoing some changes soon.

So here it is brand new (lol on Tuesday)

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y107/morph_05/Colt/PC180363.jpg

Yesterday (Saturday) it got a nice change with 20% tint on the front windows and 35% on the rears. Seeing as they already have privacy glass, I didn't really want to put 20% on them (rears). IMO it turned out orright :D

So that's about it for now. New springs arrive on Jan 10, then mid-Jan it's going onto the dyno, then will look at doing the filter and maybe some other stuff.

Hey mate you car looks great. Be really carefull with your tinted windows. Make sure you keep the inside seal as clean as possible and wind them up and down as little as you can. I think the colt has a real problem with scratching tinted windows. Mine are really bad after a year of use.

cheers gucci. Has anyone found a way around this problem? How bad does it scratch the tint?

there is a thread on the tinting issue mate, my fornt tint is only a month old and already has a few minor scratches on the drivers window. But did mine mostly for privacy and sun protection and the scratches cant be seen form the outside.
The car looks cool though mate, although practically the same as mine really (White colts rule!!!) :) After I get my engine mods done early next year I'll be on the hunt for a nice set of 17" rims to go on my white colt. Like some of the black rims with polished faces at the moment. Also in the front Air Dam buy which hopefully will be on the way soon!
What exterior changes you looking at?

I did see that thread but I was hoping someone had found a way around it and not posted lol. Oh well.

Exterior changes aren't gonna be too 'out there', just some colour coding, lowering, wheels and maybe some front air dams. Not sure about black wheels, I'm kinda set on white ones but just need to find a nice set in the right offset/stud pattern.

Check the 'prowler' ones here mate: http://www.roh.com.au/asp/product_catalogue.asp
dont think they come in 4 studs but you get the idea what I am looking at, plus the black rims will hide alot of the black brake dust, which seems never ending!

Unfortunately, these rims don't come in 4 stud, are too wide (8 inch)! The Shift-R would be likely to fit!:)

Time for an update:

new aerial from the UK arrived. Yay. Biggest mod was lowering the Colt though - did it on Saturday with help from Shawn Possingham (owns and runs Phillcom Rally). Springs have made a world of difference, the car sits on the road nicely and looks much better. Piccies:

it had a boot install done before i sold it catford! i sold it with most of the install (only kept the amps) and the new owner mentioned he might go see APS for some more amps.

over 12 months, time for an update i think. King springs are in, GMax wheels are on, Autometer Cobalt gauges are in, Rainbow splits & coaxials are in the doors, plenty of sound deadening, UR ARB waiting to go in...nothing else interesting i can think of! Not as insane as some of the other cars floating around but it does the job :p

Nice work.. yeah sure it might not be as insane as some others, but what you've done you've done well.. love the wheels and ride height, suits nicely.

Hey, how are the rainbow splits and what model do you have? I see a tweeter in the front pillar, any more pics/comments of the install and outcome?

Morph

cheers mate. The Rainbows aren't the top line ones, I think they may be the mid specs? Not entire surely, i threw the boxes out when i installed them last year lol. Running off the factory deck, they sound good (but would sound much better with 150 wrms).

Install was relatively easy, I pulled the doortrims off, sound deadened the inner and outer skin of the doors (some people say theres no point in doing both but i'm a fussy bastard!). A pillars were interesting, I wasn't game enough to touch them until i got a copy of the RColt manual, then it was a matter of jimmy-ing them off. Didn't snap any of the plugs either lol. Mounting the tweeter, I just screwed it onto the A pillar trim.

A PDX 1.1000 powers the 10" T4 - it thumps nicely! Although unlike Macca I don't turn it up when there's chicks around :p

oh and also massive props to Jase (tmrcolt) for helping with the gauge install - the guy clearly knows his shiznit when it comes to wiring that sort of thing up!
