Not sure if you guys notice, but for the past 2 - 3 wks, i can't find any Shell station that has any supply of V-Power (98 ron). Any idea why?

I'm referring to Sydney only. Not sure about other states.

yeah I found that too .. but it seems to be ok now .. they've started stocking them again... I had to drive around to 3 different Shells to find it in the end!

I personally dont bother with Shell anymore because my car seems to run much better on Mobil 98 then the V-Power (aka Optimax).

I know my car is a Swift Sport and has different fuel system then the Colt but i got 80km's more on the Mobil 98 then the V-Power...

I might try 3 fills with the V-power again to be 100% on that...but i do beleive that the Mobil is nicer for my engine.

Spotted V-Power "Racing" at my local Shell servo. A car was already at that pump so I didn't get a chance to take a better look. I think it is higher octane but not sure what rating it is. Anyone tested it?

V Power Racing is the 100 octane fuel. Basically it is a 98 ron fuel + ethanol

^ ^ ^ as above .. i've run it in the evo and it does pull harder ... but i found the fuel goes bad quicker then the normal v power (98ron) as in after about 3 days its not as good.

would be nice to have choices as over here the only 98ron is bp
some other options would make them a little bit more competitive

i agree with ozturk. i used to use ONLY optimax (now called v power) i switched to the mobil 98 octane fuel and i swear, im never going back. i encourage EVERYBODY (who can) try mobil fuel. more milage and better throttle response. what more can you ask?

I tried it and found my car ran slugish ... might have been a unlucky bad batch... I might give it a go again.

When i first got my RColt, i used BP for the first few times before switching back to my usual V-Power Shell. However, i wasn't as satisfied as i was when i'm in my 200sx with V-Power. Will either switch back to BP or try caltex which my 1st ride absolute loved.

I find all different rides love different fuel.......kinda like human that likes to drink different drinks.

Treid a few tanks of Shell V Power then a few tanks of BP Ultimate The Shell V Power seems real good if it is fresh but a few days in the car and it starts to lose it's edge.
The BP Ultimate gives just a small differance in preformance but is consistant from full to near empty both are a great improvement on Caltex 98 that is the same as Mobile 98 and for the 4 Cents a litre you can save they are not worth it. I get better economy from either BP Ultimate or Shell V Power if it is fresh.
